How safe is Triclosan?
Just how safe is triclosan? Did you know you might have put a disinfectant ingredient in your mouth this morning? Yep, it’s possible. Go check the ingredients on your toothpaste. (Might not be on the tube; check the box.)
Did you find triclosan on there? (There is other bad stuff too like sodium laurel sulfate, artificial coloring, artificial flavoring. But let’s major on the triclosan for now.)
Triclosan is considered a pesticide by the EPA. Continue reading

Shocking Proof of Shaklee Vitamins Working: Seeing is Believing
Do you need proof of a vitamin really working before you will invest in it? Why do people readily buy a necklace, or a fancy plate, or spend hundreds of dollars on internet training programs, or thousands of dollars on a fancy cruise, yet refuse to invest in natural supplements to improve their overall health? I think I figured out the reason. The reason is that there Continue reading

What Factor Can Reduce Prescription Usage?
Have you ever thought about what could reduce prescription usage for the average Joe Blow (my apologies if your name is Joe Blow)?
I am off to the annual Shaklee convention next week – woo-hoo. I’m so excited about it. This will be my third one to attend. Pay attention now because I have something really important to share. You know what I notice at these conventions? I notice how many elderly people are there who are in amazingly good health! Continue reading
Immune Boosting Supplement Helps Fight MS
Is their a natural, immune boosting supplement that can help fight Multiple Sclerosis? One of my teenage daughters has the possibility of having MS. She has had an MRI in June every year since 2009 to see if her three white spots on her brain have grown. When we had our appointment after the MRI this summer, the neurologist asked her what treatment she is on. She said that she is only on Shaklee supplements including NutriFeron and Vitamin D3. The doctor told her that one of her white spots had faded significantly Continue reading
Is There a Link Between Depression and Sugar Consumption?
Is there a connection between depression and sugar consumption?
For anyone suffering from depression, I highly recommend Sugar Blues by William Duffy. I stopped eating sugar after reading this book, with great results, but over time I lost sight of what I learned and slipped back into my sugar-eating ways. Then I realized that depression and sugar consumption are definitely connected.
Five Doable Tips for Using Your Cell Phone Safely
Did you know that the WHO (World Health Organization) says that brain cancer can possibly result from cell phone use? After reviewing numerous studies on the use of cell phones and brain cancer, the WHO listed cell phones as being “possibly carcinogenic.” Simply put, that means there’s enough evidence to raise concern, but the information is not exactly conclusive. Continue reading
The Safest Mosquito Repellent Ever
Have you wondered what is the safest mosquito repellent out there? One you can safely use on your small children without harming them? The Important Truth Regarding Natural Versus Synthetic Vitamins
Have you been confused regarding natural versus synthetic vitamins? Does the body recognize the difference? Do synthetic vitamins really go through the body without dissolving? What is the truth?
It is important to know the truth regarding natural versus synthetic vitamins before you put yourself on a vitamin regime. It is possible to ingest a pill that can kill us – so why would we even consider swallowing a vitamin we were not certain was good for us? Continue reading
Caution to parents: This Vaccine Might Cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
Can the hepatitis B vaccine cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)? I’ve recently become a fan of Dr. Mercola. On his website, he will quote a study that has been done, give the facts from that, and then he will give his own comments about it. Fascinating! He is not afraid to take on controversial topics like the study done in peer-reviewed papers that cites hepatitis B vaccine as a possible cause for numerous sudden infant deaths (in the U.S. and in Europe), multiple sclerosis, and other autoimmune disorders. Continue reading
Warnings about Skin Cancer from Survivors
Here is a poignant youtube video about avoiding skin cancer called “Dear 16 year old me.” It is all about skin cancer, how it begins, and an exhortation to protect yourself and examine your skin. I really loved how this was put together with multiple people giving their viewpoint on what they wish they had known as a 16 year old about the dangers of skin cancer. Continue reading

How Chemical Toxins are Poisoning Us Little by Little
Are you becoming more concerned about the everyday chemicals that are affecting your health? I am too. Everyone is taking in everyday chemicals EVERY DAY. It is a slow, undetectable poisoning, manifesting itself once the body reaches its limit, which means the body can no longer process the chemicals without producing some type of health problem. Continue reading
Avoid Artery Damage from a High Fat Meal
Are you tempted to swing into the drive-thru and pick up a quick burger? Don’t do it! Even one high-fat, fast food meal can wreak havoc on your arteries causing artery damage. Because of the delicate lining of your arteries, a single high-fat meal can spike triglyceride-rich lipoprotein which is a type of blood lipid that can result in inflammation within those delicate artery walls. Continue reading

Secret Ingredient for Fat-burning – Right in Your Cupboard!
Did you know you can boost your fat-burning ability by using a vinegar based salad dressing ? Yes, it’s true. A daily dose of vinegar, about two tablespoons worth, can help you get rid of body fat. Researchers have concluded that obese people who included one to two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in their daily diet dissolved more body fat than those who were on an identical diet but without the vinegar. Ordinary household vinegar seems to be able to turn on genes that help fight fat. Continue reading

Simple Tip to Reduce Dry, Cracked Skin
Does your dry, cracked skin make you think of a cactus? Do you suffer with dry, cracked skin and blame it on the harsh winter weather or the time you spend in the pool? On another note, do you love a long, hot shower as much as my teenage daughters do? Continue reading

Turn Black Friday Green
In just a few days many people will freely remove money from their wallets in exchange for deals to entertain, decorate, eat, wear, etc. for themselves or others as gifts. I guess it is well-named as “black” Friday since the desire for deals overshadows healthy contemplation about a purchase.

9 Signs of Inadequate Nutrition-Part 2
In Part 1, I introduced you to my precious daughter, Colette, who we adopted at age 22 months in Africa where we were living as missionaries. The poor little thing was extremely malnourished and only weighed 14 lbs. As we nursed her back to health, we learned 9 signs of inadequate nutrition. The first four that I covered in part 1 were: lack of energy, brittle hair, ridged nails, and mouth problems. Here are the final five signs of inadequate nutrition Continue reading
9 Signs of Inadequate Nutrition – Part 1
Back in 1996 while living in West Africa, I was visiting the orphanage there with my three year old whom we had adopted from the orphanage as an infant. A tiny 14 lb girl toddled up to me and held her arms up for me to pick her up. At 22 months old, she was very malnourished, partly due to the other orphans eating faster than she did out of a common bowl, so she never got much food. Continue reading
8 Health Benefits of Skin Brushing
When I first learned about the specific things we can do for healthy skin, I realized in a small way the benefit of skin brushing. So I bought a brush and would do skin brushing occasionally in the bath. I wasn’t too committed to doing it which translated means I didn’t really believe the benefit was worth my time and effort. That is no longer true. I now allow time to do dry skin brushing every day right before I bathe. The reason it is now part of my personal wellness program is because I’ve learned the benefits . . . and I believe they are true.
9 Strategies to Reduce High Blood Pressure
“Your mother had a heart attack last night…” was being said to me a couple of weeks ago over the phone. One of her arteries started to close up, causing her chest pain. She responded quickly, called 9-1-1, and the surgeon was able to get that artery propped open with a stint. Whew – all is well.
But how about you? How’s your heart holding up these days? Are those arteries nice and open? I want to share nine strategies with you for helping you reduce high blood pressure.
