Best Detox for Weight Loss
Recently, body cleanses, also called body detoxification, have come into the forefront of a way to build better health and even lose weight.
Although a healthy diet and exercise are still the cornerstones of reaching an optimum, healthy weight, detoxing definitely has it merits.
There are many different ways to detox your body. Some of the many options are water fasting, juice fasting, the use of detox supplements, eating all natural foods, and exercise, among other things.
Water fasting is the best detox for weight loss and improving your general health.
Fasting is the most effective and safest way to increase elimination of waste build up and enhance the body’s ability to self-heal and self-repair itself to keep the body healthy.
It is good practice to prepare for a water fast by eating fresh salads, vegetables, fruits and fruit juices for 1 to 2 days before the fast. This stimulates waste elimination and can literally pick up dead matter from your body and flush it out.
Although a pure water fast is best, a liquid juice fast can be a great alternative and possibly easier to implement to to your health regime.
A juice fast can give your intestinal system a rest and cleansing relief from high fat, high sugar, high salt, and high protein that so many Americans exist on.
Another alternative is to use high quality, whole food supplements to help clean out your liver, intestines, and other organs.
If you choose to detox using exclusively organic foods, your detox will take longer, but it is still worthwhile.
Listen to your body and be sure you are including exercise during your detox.
After a detox, your body will begin to self-cleanse and rebalance – especially after a water fast. Your energy levels will rise – physically, mentally, and psychologically. Even your creativity will increase. Now that’s a bonus!
You also might want to include a detoxing bath with epsom salts.
As a believer committed to following God, I want to also mention the spiritual aspect of fasting. Fasting can be used to strengthen your relationship to God, especially if you are committed to praying during your fast.
In the book What the Bible says About Healthy Living, the Dr. Rex Russell says “Jesus assumed we would pray, give alms, fast, and forgive. His teachings assumed that all believers practiced these disciplines. For Him to give instruction about these practices to believers was like discussing breathing, sleeping, or eating, which are all assumed to be part of a normal person’s life.”
So Jesus taught that fasting would be a part of our spiritual disciplines.
In conclusion, you will probably lose weight with whichever detox method you choose.
But I personally feel that water fasting is the best detox for weight loss and health improvement.
Don’t make weight loss your ultimate goal for a body detox though.
Rather make it your goal to get healthier.
