It’s that time of year to spring clean your home.

I have found a way to streamline my spring cleaning using the “look” method.

Now you might like to clean one room at a time.

Or maybe you like to clean with a systemized plan moving from floor to ceiling.

Before we get started, check out the best, non-toxic cleaners that I use. This is important because you don’t want to actually be making your home dirtier while cleaning by putting toxins in the air and on your things.

What I found works well for me for spring cleaning is the “look” method.

Check it out here:

Here is the Spring Clean Your Home “look” method:

Step 1: Look for clutter to clean it out.

Step 2: Look out your windows and sliding glass doors. Clean windows, sliding glass doors, curtains, and curtain rods.

Step 3: Look at your entrances. Make your entrance welcoming. Clean the mat and sweep all around the doorway.

Step 4: Look at what is plugged in. Clean appliances inside and out plus venting.

Step 5: Look for wood. Clean baseboards, cabinets, woodwork.

Step 6: Look up! Clean ceiling fans, light fixtures, tops of cabinets, cobwebs near ceiling.

Step 7: Look at walls. Clean frames, clocks, wall hangings.

Step 8: Look down. Clean carpets, floors, throw rugs.

Step 9: Look at furniture. Vacuum upholstery, treat leather, shake out pillows.

Step 10: Look for germs. Well, you can’t “see” germs, but look for germ-potential areas. Disinfect garbage cans, bathrooms, pillows. Here is a quick tip to disinfect for busy folks. Use these no-rinse disinfecting wipes.

Step 11: Look for safe cleaning products. Green cleaners that work and save you money as well as no-toxins are the ones that I use. It is true that your home should be the safest place in the world for your family.

Step 12: Look for the JOY in a clean and healthy home . . . and even in the process of cleaning!

Don’t you love that last one?

I Corinthians 10:31 says: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (ESV)
