A Glimpse into My Story: Watch my Book Trailer!
Category: Book News
I will never forget the day four FBI men walked up our sidewalk with determined steps. I was a child—small, scared, and completely unprepared—as they introduced themselves to my mother who was sitting on our front porch. They showed her the document they were holding—a warrant to search our house – something to do with my father who had left us. I didn’t understand what was happening, but I felt the heaviness in the air.
That moment planted in me the first seeds of fear… but also the first seeds of faith. I didn’t know it then, but God was already writing a story I would one day look back on with wonder. You can read this whole story in chapter 16 of my book: “When the FBI Came to Our Home.”
That childhood memory is just one of many moments when fear tried to take over—moments that later became invitations to trust God more deeply. And that is exactly the heartbeat behind the new trailer for my memoir, From Worry to Wonder: Seeing God’s Goodness in Life’s Rearview Mirror.
I’m excited to share it with you—fresh off the press.
The words you will hear me say aren’t just poetic—they are personal. They echo the very stories God has used to shape my life.

Why This Trailer Matters to me
The trailer captures in sixty seconds what took decades to live and years to write:
- That God never wastes a trial.
- That loneliness can become a place where His presence feels closest.
- That fear—whether it’s a childhood encounter with the FBI, a dangerous moment as a missionary on a mountain trail, or a crisis with a tiny orphan—can become the doorway to experiencing His goodness in a deeper way.
Every scene and every line in the trailer reflects a truth I have lived: God is always at work, even when life feels out of control.

A Glimpse into the Book Behind the Trailer
From Worry to Wonder: Seeing God’s Goodness in Life’s Rearview Mirror is my story of how God wove His faithfulness through trials I never would have chosen—childhood abandonment, struggles on the mission field in Ethiopia and Ghana, danger, financial strain, parenting struggles, and the breathtaking stories of our adopted daughters, among others. It’s a memoir of God’s provision, protection, and purpose shining through circumstances that the evil one meant to break me.
Readers have told me the book feels like sitting down with a friend who’s willing to be honest about the storms—but even more willing to point to the God who still parts seas. One reader shared that it is the best book she has ever read!

Your story matters too—because your trials are not dead ends. They are invitations—invitations to trust God more deeply.

My prayer is that as you read, you’ll sense God’s fingerprints on your own story—even the parts that once felt shattered. And that you’ll discover, as I did, that He is always working behind the scenes to turn fear into faith and worry into worship.
