Do you know what is actually stealing your future?
It is tomorrow . . . next week . . . next year.
“Tomorrow” is stealing your future.
It is procrastination . . . or just plain distraction. It is putting off until tomorrow what could be done today.
Tomorrow is not yours to spend.
You cannot build on tomorrow. You can only build on today.
We need to realize that our lives are only vapors, like the steam rising from the cup of hot tea in front of us. Our hours, like the vapor, coil up and away, disappearing into the air even faster than they emerged.
Have you ever opened up your facebook just to check a few things . . . and looked at the clock later to see an hour has passed? An hour stolen away – just like that. Evaporated.
There is a verse in the Bible about that.
James 4:14 says, “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”
Intentions are funny things. But they don’t build your future. You must take action.
For example, if you intend to write something, then go ahead and write it.
If you intend to get healthier, make some lifestyle changes and invest in quality vitamins.
If you want to lose weight, make a plan, get support, and start with the next thing you put into your mouth.
If you desire to grow a home business, create a strategy and systems, and go for it in a big way . . . today!
Tomorrow is like a master thief.
Tomorrow steals away your productivity and your success. It sucks away your time management and performance for today.
Thank you for the wonderful post! This is my first time commenting on your blog; but I’ve bookmarked you on my favorites 🙂 I always think “tomorrow” I’ll take my son to the park and read my daughter a story. Then life gets so crazy that it’s already tomorrow. So TODAY I’ll do both . . . because tomorrow I’ll be saying the same things about my grand-kids.
HI Aubrey, That is so true! I hope your son enjoyed the trip to the park and that your daughter enjoyed the story with mommy. Good for you! Blessings, Amy
Hi Amy…Good idea that you share this to us…Anyway, tomorrow is really one of the best days we have to plan with because it can bring us to the future depending on how we plan it…
I believe that “tomorrow” may steal our future. In one saying states “Do not wait for tomorrow, what you can for today” because time is very important in business. You might not know what tomorrow brings.
Thanks Amy for the reminder to quit thinking “tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow”. Reality is it can’t ALL be done today but to know what NEEDS to get done each day without the “tomorrow” mentality.
That’s a great reminder, Eva. We can get done what NEEDS to get done – not everything. That is the beauty of giving our day to the Lord. I had a couple of “interruptions” today but I tried hard to not allow them to steal my joy from my “plans” being thwarted. Blessings, Amy
Your post reminds me of this quote by C.S. Lewis – “The Future is, of all things, the thing least like eternity. It is the most temporal part of time–for the Past is frozen and no longer flows, and the Present is all lit up with eternal rays.”
I, too, am guilty of looking forward so much that I miss out on the present. Thank you for this reminder (:
Tomorrow is my worst enemy as I am a HUGE procrastinator, unfortunately. :'( Reading your post opened my eyes to all I was missing out on. Thank you for linking-up with us on Oh My Heartsie Girls Wordless Wednesday Link Party. We sure hope you’ll come back and join us next week.
Wishing you a FABULOUS week.

Amy,
I am so guilty, guilty, guilty of the procrastination thing. And you are so right, before you know the time has passed, without me realizing it. Thanks for another insightful post.
I nodded my head in agreement all the way through this post. There is nothing worse for our lives that saying oh well I will start it tomorrow, and I just this week have looked at the clock after saying I would only be on Facebook a little while but then an hour had gone by! This is something I definitely am working on!
Nice post indeed. We never know what has been written on our wall for the ‘Tomorrows’. When we have a negative today, then we must set our-self to turn it to Positive tomorrow. Great Share.
This is such a true post. My Pastor talked about this last Sunday when we talked about Mary and how she lived her life. She pondered. She thought about her past. He said “Don’t forget yesterday, it can help tomorrow.” We can’t let tomorrow steal today…we can’t know what tomorrow holds, BUT we do know that whatever happens, God will get us through “just like He did yesterday, and the days before.”
